Porter Protection Policy |
|
Being an ethical tour operator, we have strictly implemented the porter and trekking guide protection policy who work for our company.
- • All our trekking guides and porters receive a fair wage above the average paid by other trekking companies.
- • For employing the guides and porters, we have set the age bar. We do not employ the porters under the age of 16. We carefully checked their national identity card to make sure their actual age.
- • We provide accommodation either in lodge or tents to guide and porters during the trip.
- • All our trekking guides and porters are well insured and appropriate clothing is provided to them according to season and altitude.
- • Each porter is allowed to carry a load up to 25kg. However, we instruct our trekking guide to adjust the weight limits of the porters according to altitude, trail and weather conditions.
- • In case of illness or injury during the trip, we never send back porters or trekking crew members alone. We send someone who can explain the problem of the concerned crew member to the doctor in hospital or health center.
- • We rescue any of our climbing guides and high altitudes porters if they get sick during the expedition by helicopter and pay the bills to the helicopter company.
- • We provide a shelter either a room in a lodge (teahouse) or tent, a sleeping mat, a decent blanket or sleeping bag, all meals and warm drinks, fuel or cooking equipment to the porter who go above the tree line.
- • We advice our clients how much to tip to our trekking guides and porters after the trip.
