Overview
Dhaulagiri is the seventh highest mountain in the world. It is an enormous Himalayan massif, located in north central Nepal. The crest of the mountain stretches for thirty miles, lending structure to an otherwise tangled topography of twisting ridges, glaciers and ice fall. Along the main crest, several pyramid shaped peaks rise. Four of these peaks, numbered from east to west rise above 7000 m. The climb follows a circuitous route around the mountain from French Col to approach the summit from the North East Col. |
Itinerary
Day 01 : Arrival Kathmandu & transfer to hotel
Day 02-03: Preparation day
Day 04: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara & transfer to hotel
Day 05: Fly to Jomsom. Stay overnight in Jomsom
Day 06: Jomsom to Kagbeni. Stay overnight in lodge
Day 07: Day hike to Muktinath, back to Jomsom. Stay overnight in lodge
Day 08: Jomsom to Yak Kharka/Alu bari. Camping
Day 09: Yak Kharka to Kalo pani. Camping
Day 10: Kalo Pani to Hidden Valley. Camping
Day 11: Hidden Valley to Dhauligiri Base camp. Camping
Day 12-13: Base Camp
Day 14-52: Mt. Dhaulagiri Climbing period
Day 53: Base Camp to Hidden Valley - Camping
Day 54: Hidden Valley to Yak Kharka. Camping

NEPAL EXTENSIONS
There are a variety of interesting extensions you might choose to add on either before or after your trek. These options include:
Chitwan National Park Tour
It provides excellent opportunities to view the rare species such as sloth bear, bison, rhinoceros, leopard and the exclusive tiger. Early morning jungle walks and safaris on elephant back are amongst the most popular activities. The jungle lodge can be reached from Kathmandu either by air or by private vehicle.
Mount Everest Scenic Flight
An hour flight departs Kathmandu early morning and provides spectacular views of Mount Everest and the surrounding mountains.
Culture/Heritage Tour
Nepal boasts a rich cultural diversity and it is well worth exploring. The Himalayan country of Nepal is a dream-world for many and reality for some. Bunjee Jumping
Nepal has become one of the best sites in the world for bungee jumping. The country’s first bungee jumping site is situated 160m over the roaring Bhote Koshi river, located close to the Nepal Tibet border (Kodari) just three hour’s drive from Kathmandu.
Water Rafting
Nepal is also popular as one of the best destinations for white water rafting in the world. Cruising down rushing river of crashing waves and swirling rapids can make up excitement of a lifetime. Nepal’s thundering waters, coming from the glaciers of the mighty Himalaya provide unmatched thrills for rafting & immersing oneself in the beautiful landscape.
Paragliding
Paragliding is relatively new adventure sport in Nepal, and can be truly wonderful and fulfilling experience for adventure seekers. We experience unparalleled scenic grandeur sharing airspace with Himalayan griffin vultures, eagles, and kites, while floating over villages, monasteries, temples, lakes and jungles, with a fantastic view of majestic Himalayas.
