Nepal, the most preferred destination in the world for adventure opportunities and cultural explorations!! With a mixture of unique culture proudly preserved, thrilling adventure and remarkable natural beauty, Nepal offers an astonishing diversity of sightseeing attractions and adventure opportunities such as trekking with a breathtaking view, mountaineering on eight of the fourteen highest mountains in the world, river rafting on the Himalaya- fed white water or an elephant ride in the jungle, all within a distance of only 150 kilometers.
The country, roughly a rectangular in shape with an area of 147,181 square kilometers has a population of 28,563,377 (July 2009 est.) and is bordered to the south, west, and east by Indian states and north by Tibet (China).
Nepal is home to the world's 8 highest Himalayan Mountains, including Everest, Cho Oyu. From the summit of Everest, the topography plunges to just above sea level on the southern border. This drop divides the country into three horizontal zones: the high mountains, the lush central hills, and the flat, arid Terai region in the south. Fast-moving, snow-fed rivers cut through the hills and mountains from north to south, carving deep valleys and steep ridges. The rugged topography and cultural practices has made the country rich in over 100 ethnic groups and 102 languages.
