It is one of the most affordable budget tours that begins from Kathmandu to Lhasa, the center of administration and authority of Tibet. You will be driven through the Himalayan ranges along the Arniko Highway that connects Kathmandu with Lhasa. Along the way you will pass through the beautiful mountains, Tibetan villages and towns visiting mystical Buddhist monasteries of Tashilunpo at Shigatse, the Kumbum Stupa at Gyantse and experience traditional culture of Tibetan people and much more. There are some of the challenging passes and various large open barren fields en-route with superb views of snow-clad peaks dominating the surroundings. In Lhasa you will visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Market, Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. The tour ends in Lhasa and then you fly back to Kathmandu.

Day00: Arrival Kathmandu and transfer to hotel

Day01: Drive Kathmandu to Zhangmu/ Nyalam (3700m) 156km
We make departure from Kathmandu, early morning at 05:30. You will drive through the scenic beautiful Nepalese countryside. After completing the necessary border formalities at Kodari in Nepal side, we change our vehicle and start an hour adventurous uphill drive to Zhangmu (Chinese immigration) for official entry in Tibet/China. If time permits,the driving continues to Nyalam (30 km), overnight at guesthouse.
Day02: Drive Nyalam to Tingri/Lhatse (4350m) 244km
While driving uphill to the highest plateau of the world around Lalung La pass(5,050 m), you will see the breathtaking panoramic view of beautiful Himalayan ranges including Mt. Cho Oyu (8201m) & Mt. Shisapangma (8012m).From Tingri, you can view Mt. Everest (8,848m), Overnight at guesthouse.
Day03: Drive Lhatse to Shigatse (3900m) km
We will drive to Shigatse, the place of the famous Tashilumpo monastery, the second largest monastery in Tibet and the seat of Panchen Lama, Overnight at hotel.
Day04:Drive Shigatse to Gyantse (3950m) -90km
We will visit Tashilumpo monastery and Shigatse Bazaar in the morning. Then we further drive to Gyantse, which lies 261km southwest of Lhasa. In the 15th century it served as the capital of a small kingdom. Here we will visit Kumbum stupa, which was built around 1400 AD, Overnight at Hotel.
Day05: Drive Gyantse to Lhasa (3650m) -261km
Today 8hr drive takes you to Lhasa crossing the Karo La Pass (5010m) and Kamba La pass (4794m). The Karo La climbs between two lofty mountains, Nozing Khang Sa (7223m) and Ralung (6236m). While driving, you will see the Yamdrok Tso (Turquoise Lake), which takes approx. 1 hour to drive around. After passing Kamba La, Lhasa valley is seen to the north, overnight at hotel in Lhasa.
Day06-07: Lhasa Sightseeing
These days you will be engrossed with sightseeing and excursions of the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Market, Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. Lhasa is now a fascinating modern city. There are many wonderful things to see and do around Lhasa, which helps to know about story of Tibet's unique past and the intertwining of religion and history. Most of the holy temples retain magic and mysticism and demonstrate the absolute faith in Tibetan Buddhism so integral to the character of the Tibetan people.
Day08: Fly Lhasa to Kathmandu
In the very early morning after breakfast, we will make airport transfer to catch a flight to Kathmandu.
