Overview

Paldor lies at the south-east end of Ganesh Himal marking the junction of the Tiru and Karpu Dandas at the head of the Mailung Khola, a tributary of the Trisuli Gandaki River. The quickest approach to Paldor and Ganesh Himal is from Syabru near Dunche in the Trisuli valley which can be reached in a 6 to 7 hours drive from Kathmandu. From here the trail crosses the Langtang Khola to Syabrubesi. After crossing the Bhote Kosi river the route leads via Tamang villages of Tangjet and Gatlang, then heads northwards along the ridge before dropping into the forest above Mailung Khola to pick up the newly built road that leads to an army post. The moraine filled valley below Paldor is reached from here in another day’s walk. A more interesting approach is the trek from Sundarijal (on the outskirts of Kathmandu valley) through the hills of Helambu and over the Gosainkunda range to Syabru. The return from the mountain can be made by trekking directly to Trisuli Bazaar in about 4 or 5 days from where a drive of about 3 hours bring one back to Kathmandu.

Day 04          :            Trek to Gatlang (2238m.) via Goljung. 6 hrs,

Day 05          :          Trek to Yuri Kharka (3390m.) 5 hrs,

Day 06          :          Trek to Somdang (3,270m.) via Khurpudanda pass (3,620m) 5 hrs,

Day 07          :          Trek to Jasta Khani (3700m.) 5 hrs,

Day 08          :          Trek to Paldor Base Camp (4,280m) 5 hrs,

Day 09          :            Rest day at Base camp for acclimatization,

Day 10          :          Climb from Paldor base camp to High camp. 5 hrs,

Day 11          :            Rest day at High camp for acclimatization,

Day 12          :            Summit Paldor Peak (5,896m) & return to Base Camp. 9 hrs,

Day 13          :          Trek to Somdang. 7 hrs,

Day 14          :          Trek to Narchet Kharka (3800m.) 7 hrs

Day 15          :          Trek to Sertung. 7 hrs,

Day 16          :            Trek to Jharlang. 8 hrs,

Day 17          :          Trek to Darkha. 7 hrs,

Day 18          :            Trek to Khahare Bazaar. 7 hrs,

Day 19          :            Drive from Khahare Bazaar to Kathmandu. 8 hrs

Day 20          :          Transfer to international airport for your final departure.

Day 21          :          Free day in Kathmandu

Day 22          :          Final departure
