Overview

Mt. Makalu (8462 m), the fifth highest mountain in the world, is an isolated peak located just 14 miles east of Mt. Everest. Its size alone is impressive, but its structure is that of a perfect pyramid- shape with four sharp ridges making this mountain all the more spectacular. It has proven to be a challenging climb as only five of its first sixteen attempts were successful.

The route starts from the base of the West Face at 5,800m. and climbs to the hanging ice-fall at 6,100m. to the right part of the ice-fall. The second part of the route extends from the plateau above the ice-fall along 35 to 45 degree elevation's rock up to the 6,500m high. The next section is an ice-rock wall, 50 to 55 degrees steep & that extends to 7,400 meters height. The last final section begins 70 to 75 degree elevation's rock pillar, which leads to the west ridge at 8,000 m. elevation till to the top of the summit.

 Day 05: Tumlingtar to Mane Bhanjyang.(1440m)

 Day 06: Mane Bhanjyang to Chichira. (1980m)

 Day 07: Chichira to Num (1851m)

 Day 08: Num to Sheduwa (1500m)

 Day 09: Sheduwa to Tashigaon. (2100m)

 Day 10: Tashigaon to Kauma. (3760m)

 Day 11: Kauma to Dobato. (3700m)

 Day 12: Dobato to Jar Kharka (4800m)

 Day 13: Jar Lharka to Hillary Base Camp (4800m)

 Day 14: Hillary Base Camp to Makalu Base Camp. (4870m)

 Day 15-47: Climbing Period Mt. Makalu

 Day 48:Clean up Base Camp

 Day 49: Base Camp to Yak Kharka

 Day 50: Yak Kharka to Mumbuk

 Day 51: Mumbuk to Tashigaon.

 Day 52: Tashigaon to Num     

 Day 53: Num to Chichira

 Day 54: Chichira to Tumlingtar

 Day 55: Fly to Kathmandu. Transfer to your hotel

 Day 56: Free day in Kathmandu

 Day 57: Free day in Kathmandu

 Day 58: Transfer to airport for final departure
