Overview
Mt. Manaslu lies in the western part of Nepal, north side of Gorkha district along the Kali Gandaki valley. This mountain was previously known as Kutan 1. ' Tang' is a Tibetan word which means flat place. It was then renamed Manaslu which comes from the Sanskrit word "Manas" meaning "intellect" or "soul". It was first climbed by Mr. Tashio. Imanishi of Japan on May 09, 1956 via North East Face route. There exist half a dozen different routes on Manaslu today. The south face of this ‘Mountain of intellect’ is arguably the toughest in climbing history. |
Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu & transfer to hotel
Day 02-03: Documents Preparation and briefing
Day 04: Drive to Gorkha (1060m) hotel
Day 05: Gorkha to Khanchowk (1000m)
Day 06: Khanchowk to Aurghat Bazaar (576m)
Day 07: Arughat Bazaarto Soti Khola (760m)
Day 08: Soti Khola to Machha Khola (820m)
Day 09: Machha Khola to Jagat (1360m)
Day 10: Jagat to Chumet (1670m)
Day 11: Chumet to Namrung (2550)
Day 12: Namrung to Sama Gompa (3360m)
Day 13: Rest day for acclimatization.
Day 14: Sama Gompa to High Camp 4700m. Set up and preparation
Day 15-29: Climbing period of Manaslu (8163m)
Day 30: Clean up base Camp & backpack.
Day 31: Trek back to Samdo Village (3780m)
Day 32: Trek to Larke-La 5220m. Pass
Day 33: Larke-La Pass to Bimtang (3630m)
Day 34: Bhimtang to Tilje (1930m)
Day 35: Tilje to Tal (1680m)
Day 36: Tal to Syange (1060m)
Day 37: Syange to Khudi (790m)
Day 38: Drive to Kathmandu by Bus then transfer to Hotel.
Day 39: Kathmandu free
Day 40: Last minute, transfer to airport for your onward journey |

NEPAL EXTENSIONS
There are a variety of interesting extensions you might choose to add on either before or after your trek. These options include:
Chitwan National Park Tour
It provides excellent opportunities to view the rare species such as sloth bear, bison, rhinoceros, leopard and the exclusive tiger. Early morning jungle walks and safaris on elephant back are amongst the most popular activities. The jungle lodge can be reached from Kathmandu either by air or by private vehicle.
Mount Everest Scenic Flight
An hour flight departs Kathmandu early morning and provides spectacular views of Mount Everest and the surrounding mountains.
Culture/Heritage Tour
Nepal boasts a rich cultural diversity and it is well worth exploring. The Himalayan country of Nepal is a dream-world for many and reality for some. Bunjee Jumping
Nepal has become one of the best sites in the world for bungee jumping. The country’s first bungee jumping site is situated 160m over the roaring Bhote Koshi river, located close to the Nepal Tibet border (Kodari) just three hour’s drive from Kathmandu.
Water Rafting
Nepal is also popular as one of the best destinations for white water rafting in the world. Cruising down rushing river of crashing waves and swirling rapids can make up excitement of a lifetime. Nepal’s thundering waters, coming from the glaciers of the mighty Himalaya provide unmatched thrills for rafting & immersing oneself in the beautiful landscape.
Paragliding
Paragliding is relatively new adventure sport in Nepal, and can be truly wonderful and fulfilling experience for adventure seekers.
