Overview

Upper Dolpa is the most remote region of Nepal and the major highlight of this area is Shey Phoksumdo lake and Shey Gompa. This region is bordered by the Dhaulagiri to the east and south and Churen Himal range to the west. Trekking to the Upper Dolpo offers you a remarkable experience of a lifetime. You will see pristine snowy peaks, walk through ancient and historical villages, Phoksundo national park,visit Buddhist monasteries and astounding lakes. The people of this area are simple, very much amicable and warm-hearted with enthralling culture that is basically linked with Tibetan tradition. The region has been described as one of the World's “Natural Hidden Shangri-La." We begin the trek at “Juphal” and follows the trail to “Dunai”, then goes ahead to “Tarakot”, way up to “Bang la” Camp, the highest point of the  trek; and after passing through the “Sanu Bheri” village, we then descend to the beautiful “Phoksundo” Lake, which is a inevitable part of the “Shey Phoksundo National Park."

Itinerary

Day 01          :          Arrival in Kathmandu airport & transfer to Hotel

Day 02          :          Pre-trip meeting and Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley.

Day 03          :           Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj Overnight at Hotel.  

Day 04          :          Fly from Nepalgunj to Dolpo (Juphal) &. Trek to Dunai. Overnight at Camp  

Day 05          :          Trek to Ankhe Overnight at Camp  

Day 06          :          Trek to Ra Gaon. Overnight at Camp  

Day 07          :          Trek to Phoksundo Lake. Overnight at Camp  

Day 08          :          Rest day at Phoksundo for local excursion. Overnight at Camp  

Day 09          :          Trek to Phoksundo Khola Overnight at Camp  

Day 10          :          Trek to Phoksundo Bhanjyang. Overnight at Camp  

Day 11          :          Trek to Shey Gompa. Overnight at Camp    

Day 12          :          Rest day at Shey for local excursion. Overnight at Camp  

Day 13          :          Trek to Namduna Gaon. Overnight at Camp  

Day 14          :          Trek to Saldang Overnight at Camp  

Day 15          :          Trek to Yangze Gomba Overnight at Camp  

Day 16          :          Trek to Sibu Overnight at Camp  

Day 17          :          Trek to Jengla Phedi. Overnight at Camp   

Day 18          :          Trek to Tokyu Gaon. Overnight at Camp  

Day 19          :          Trek to Dho Tarap Overnight at Camp  

Day 20          :          Rest day for local excursion Overnight at Camp  

Day 21          :          Trek to Tarap Khola. Overnight at Camp  

Day 22          :          Trek to Khari Gaon. Overnight at Camp  

Day 23          :          Trek to Tarakot. Overnight at Camp  

Day 24          :          Trek to Dunai. Overnight at Camp

PAYMENT PROCEDURE

An advance of US$ 500 per person is required for booking the trip
The rest of the payment to be paid upon your arrival in Kathmandu
Note: Any increase in costs of domestic flights/land transport or hotel accommodation in Kathmandu and Nepalgunj at departure date will be payable by clients
