Overview
The Numbur Cheese Circuit route has been developed with the initiation of TAAN and many local organizations especially for the real adventure seekers to fulfill their needs of eco-trekking trails due to the congestion of commercialized trekking trails. The 'Numbur Cheese Circuit (NCC)' trail is situated in Ramechhap district, some 190km east of the capital city Kathmandu. It is a 19-day circuit trek connecting two beautiful river valleys; Khimti and Likhu in the lap of Everest and Rolwaling region. The trek is named in honor of the virgin peak Numbur Chuli (6959m) and one of Nepal's first Yak Cheese factories, established in 1957. The Numbur Cheese Circuit trail offers its visitors the breathtaking views of the majestic Himalayas including Everest range, Numbur Chuli, Gaurishankar, Jugal and Langtang Himalayan range. The virgin and vibrant Sherpa culture is another major attraction of the trail and the trek can also be combined as eco-lodge camping trek with the unique home-stay experiences among Sherpa communities. The Numbur Cheese Circuit trekking is more potential for the trekkers who are looking for 'off-the-beaten path' treks. The High Himalayan lakes, revered by pilgrims including Panchpokhari, Jatapokhari, Bhalepokhari, Dudhpokhari and richness in biodiversity are also among the prime attractions of Numbur Cheese Circuit trail. Many pristine monasteries lie along the trail in Lachhewar, Kyama, Gumdel, Bhandar and Thodung offering spiritual delights. |
Itinerary
Day 01 : Arrival in Nepal & transfer to hotel
Day 02 : Drive from Kathmandu to Jiri (1955m)/Shivalaya (1790m) (190km).
Day 03 : Trek to Khahare (2175m).
Day 04 : Trek to Panipakha (3105m).
Day 05 : Trek to Manedanda (3940m).
Day 06 : Trek to Panchpokhari (4515m).
Day 07 : Trek to Tare (4140m).
Day 08 : Rest day at Tare for excursion.
Day 09 : Trek to Ngeju (3690m) crossing over Gyazo la pass (4880m).
Day 10 : Rest day at Ngeju to pay a visit to Kau Gumba.
Day 11 : Trek to Lhachhewar (2665m).
Day 12 : Trek to Kyama (2380m).
Day 13 : Trek to Gumdel (2255m).
Day 14 : Trek to Serding (3360m).
Day 15 : Trek to Thodung-Lapchane (3105m).
Day 16 : Trek to Those (1755m).
Day 17 : Drive Those to Jiri - Kathmandu, hotel.
Day 18 : Half day Kathmandu sightseeing
Day 19 : Final departure |

NEPAL EXTENSIONS
There are a variety of interesting extensions you might choose to add on either before or after your trek. These options include:
Chitwan National Park Tour
It provides excellent opportunities to view the rare species such as sloth bear, bison, rhinoceros, leopard and the exclusive tiger. Early morning jungle walks and safaris on elephant back are amongst the most popular activities. The jungle lodge can be reached from Kathmandu either by air or by private vehicle.
Mount Everest Scenic Flight
An hour flight departs Kathmandu early morning and provides spectacular views of Mount Everest and the surrounding mountains.
Culture/Heritage Tour
Nepal boasts a rich cultural diversity and it is well worth exploring. The Himalayan country of Nepal is a dream-world for many and reality for some. Bunjee Jumping
Nepal has become one of the best sites in the world for bungee jumping. The country’s first bungee jumping site is situated 160m over the roaring Bhote Koshi river, located close to the Nepal Tibet border (Kodari) just three hour’s drive from Kathmandu.
Water Rafting
Nepal is also popular as one of the best destinations for white water rafting in the world. Cruising down rushing river of crashing waves and swirling rapids can make up excitement of a lifetime. Nepal’s thundering waters, coming from the glaciers of the mighty Himalaya provide unmatched thrills for rafting & immersing oneself in the beautiful landscape.
Paragliding
Paragliding is relatively new adventure sport in Nepal, and can be truly wonderful and fulfilling experience for adventure seekers.
