Overview

The trek up to Makalu Base Camp is an excellent choice for those adventure seekers wanting  to explore the most amazing and unseen scenery of the eastern Himalayas. Incredibly marvelous, and still very un- trodden, off- the- beaten track of Makalu region is very close to the Everest region. The area is famous for both culture and nature. A naturalist's paradise, teeming with many precious plants, animals (such as wolves, fox, lynx and the elusive snow leopard) and birds and a significant part of the Himalayas are the main attractions of this region. The trek takes you through the entire scenic and cultural heritage of Nepal, from the hot flat plains of the Terai (200m) to Makalu Base Camp (5000m)., which is the least visited area by trekkers in Nepal's far east. The views of the south face of Makalu, as well as Everest and Lhotse are truly eye-catching and fantastic. Trekkers should be in good physical condition and have some vigorous hiking experience to accomplish this trek.

Day 09          :          Rest & acclimatization in Khongma La
