Overview
This is the highest trek in the world. This trek takes you to the Everest advance Base Camp in Tibet. This adventure trek is an incredible journey to camp 3 and the base of the North Col via the East Rongbuk Glacier. Nowhere else on this planet you can hike on trail to such a high elevation without the need for crampons, ice axes, or mountaineering skills. Your trip begins with a flight to Lhasa where you will spend 2 nights, staying right in the centre of the old city. This will allow both plenty of time for acclimatization and easy access to the city's main attractions - the Potala Palace and the Jokhang Temple. Leaving Lhasa in our Toyota Landcruiser 4 wheel drive, we will travel through this amazing country, staying in the best traditional hotels Tibet has to offer. In the towns of Gyantse and Shigatse we explore further monasteries and fully immerse ourselves in the Buddhist culture. |
Itinerary
Day 01 : Arrival Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
Day 02 : Permits preparation & shopping
Day 03 : Fly to Lhasa (3650m), Overnight at hotel.
Day 04 : Sightseeing in Lhasa, Overnight at hotel.
Day 05 : Sightseeing in Lhasa, Overnight at hotel.
Day 06 : Drive Gyantse (3950m) 261 km, overnight at tented camp
Day 07 : Sightseeing & drive to Shigatse (3900m) 90km, overnight at tented camp.
Day 08 : Sightseeing & drive to Shegar (New Tingri: 4050m) 244km, overnight at tented camp.
Day 09 : Drive to Rongbuk (5000m) 68km, overnight at tented camp.
Day 10 : Rest day at Base Camp, overnight at tented camp.
Day 11 : Rest day at Base Camp, overnight at tented camp.
Day 12 : Trek to Camp 1 (5460m), overnight at tented camp.
Day 13 : Trek to interim camp (5760m), overnight at tented camp.
Day 14 : Rest day at interim camp, overnight at tented camp.
Day 15 : Trek to Camp 2 (5970m), overnight at tented camp.
Day 16 : Trek to Camp 3 (6340m) and return to Camp 2, overnight at tented camp.
Day 17 : Return to Base Camp, overnight at tented camp.
Day 18 : Drive to Nyalam (215km), overnight at tented camp.
Day 19 : Drive to Kathmandu (1400m) 153km
Day 20 : Free day in Kathmandu

NEPAL EXTENSIONS
There are a variety of interesting extensions you might choose to add on either before or after your trek. These options include:
Chitwan National Park Tour
It provides excellent opportunities to view the rare species such as sloth bear, bison, rhinoceros, leopard and the exclusive tiger. Early morning jungle walks and safaris on elephant back are amongst the most popular activities. The jungle lodge can be reached from Kathmandu either by air or by private vehicle.
Mount Everest Scenic Flight
An hour flight departs Kathmandu early morning and provides spectacular views of Mount Everest and the surrounding mountains.
Culture/Heritage Tour
Nepal boasts a rich cultural diversity and it is well worth exploring. The Himalayan country of Nepal is a dream-world for many and reality for some. Once experienced they can never be forgotten, never dismissed from memory whether ones experience of them is visiting age-old Hindu temples, Buddhist monasteries and royal palaces with amazing sculptures, paintings, legends and living rituals. Bunjee Jumping
Nepal has become one of the best sites in the world for bungee jumping. The country’s first bungee jumping site is situated 160m over the roaring Bhote Koshi river, located close to the Nepal Tibet border (Kodari) just three hour’s drive from Kathmandu.
Water Rafting
Nepal is also popular as one of the best destinations for white water rafting in the world. Cruising down rushing river of crashing waves and swirling rapids can make up excitement of a lifetime. Nepal’s thundering waters, coming from the glaciers of the mighty Himalaya provide unmatched thrills for rafting & immersing oneself in the beautiful landscape.
Paragliding
Paragliding is relatively new adventure sport in Nepal, and can be truly wonderful and fulfilling experience for adventure seekers. We experience unparalleled scenic grandeur sharing airspace with Himalayan griffin vultures, eagles, and kites, while floating over villages, monasteries, temples, lakes and jungles, with a fantastic view of majestic Himalayas. For the last three years this activity has been in operation in Pokhara, and it now is an internationally recognized destination for free flight enthusiasts
